After Work Bottom Chunkin'

The shad fishing was slow, which is a little unusual for this time of year.  But I'm sure it'll pick right back up.  We managed a few white perch and decided to chunk up a few a little ways down river.  The catfishing was slow too, but I lucked out with one blue at 37.5".

Not a monster by James River standards, but still good times.

  1. Good times indeed! What in the world is going on with the shad bite..... very strange that its not every cast by now. They seem to be very picky this year, especially the past 2 days.

    1. Yeah, it's definitely been off. I know there's some BIG stripers in the area.

  3. That's a huge blue. I'm looking for a fish like that on a fly. People have caught 40+ inch catfish on the James using big rabbit strip flies.
